Eames Dinning Chair
Designed by the American designer Charles Eames in 1964, the Plywood Dinning Chair has its roots of influence, in the "Humanistic Modernism" of Alvar Alto and the intellectual experimentation of industrial technology of the Bauhaus. Eames incorporates his knowledge in furniture design and continuous research in molded plywood furniture, to produce the Plywood Dinning Chair , first designed, for the Michigan office furniture manufacturer, Herman Miller.
The inspiration of the seat of the Eames chair was conceived by the tractor seats. The final design of the plywood seat and back section of the Plywood Dinning Chair portray shapes that are floating in space. The thin layers of lightweight veneer are molded and gently curved to create comfortable shapes that embrace the human body. Natural rubber connections absorb any movement providing extra stability to the Eames chair.
