When Le Corbusier, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, becomes intrigued with an idea, even something as ordinary as a stool becomes extraordinary. The 1929 Swivel Armchair is probably his most notable work in this area. Becoming fascinated with chromed steel tubing, Le Corbusier crafted a stool which is big on function and straightforward in form. A thick tube of padding covered with durable leather covers the curved stainless steel tube that forms the back of the chair, providing supple support and comfort. The seat is equally well padded with top quality foam. Four bent stainless legs form the base, offering tremendous stability in a sophisticated style. Turning chair LC7 was designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand (1928)
