Interior Design magazine has opened voting for their Best of the Year awards, honoring innovative product design in over 30 categories including Accessories, Architectural and Building Products, Bath Accessories and Hardware, Bath Plumbing Fixtures, Broadloom and Modular Carpet and Rugs, Hard Flooring, Hardware, Tiles, Wall coverings, Window Treatments, Miscellaneous Innovations and several categories under the umbrellas of Furniture, Kitchen, Lighting, Outdoor, Seating and Textiles.   But in today's increasingly eco-conscious world, we think the most promising products are those up for awards in the Eco category.

The best-known is probably the Organic Crib Set from Dwell Studio – the must-have, 100% pure organic cotton baby bedding that has graced the nursery of many a celebrity mom.  But expect some stuff competition from some other nominees.   The Nature's Dryer Trees by Design Assistance are incredibly cool metal "trees" designed to give consumers an attractive spot to hand-dry laundry.  The Audubon Double Recycler from Deep Stream Designs turns the humble recycling bin into a sleek piece of art, with separate slots for paper and plastic.  And Bio-Glass transforms beer, wine and other bottles into beautiful, modern glass for home and commercial use.  What will the winning product be?  Stay tuned for more info.
